The Markaz was established in 1978 as college of Islamic Studies and orphanage, it has gradually grown to become the flagship of Islamic and modern education for the Muslims in India. With combination of Islamic and modern education and its multidimensional learning endeavors starting from Islamic pre-school to higher institution of medicine, law, engineering, management and social science including post graduation in Islamic theology. Now Markaz is proudly standing as a model academic institution in south Asia, with a strength of 35000 students in its diverse campuses from different states of India, and 83500 alumni all over the world.

Markaz Central Library is known for the breadth and depth of its material. It offers you a wide range of learning resources to help the study and research. The Library contains around One Lakh (1,00,000) books, subscribes and periodicals. This library's archives contain several rare collections of ancient manuscripts of Quran and other authentic volumes. It is reputed to be one of the largest in Islamic universities Since a large number of students are using library facilities and hundreds of publics are visiting the premise every day the markaz planned to modify the existing library and do the automation. The automation will facilitate the patron, hassle-free access in to the content of library without any delay. It will also uplift image of the institution among the leading libraries all over the world
